Maxine M. Stepanek, 75, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a lengthy illness. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2012, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Interment: Linwood Cemetery at a later date.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Kathy) Willman and Craig (Judy) Willman, of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Justin (Micki) Willman, Chad Willman, Heather (Scott) Stangenwald, Jesse Willman and Amanda Willman, all of Cedar Rapids, and Cody Willman of Swisher; great-grandchildren, Hannen, Sierra, Lucas, Halan, Logan, Erich and Layne; a sister-in-law, Teresa Burns of Las Vegas; step-children, Sue (Gary) Warner of Waterloo, Ruth (Brad) Wanzell of Davenport, Steve (Marilyn) Stepanek of Davenport, and John Stepanek of Cedar Rapids; and her special friends, Ron and Teri Clark and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Evaline Burns; her siblings, Bob, Larry, and Earl; and her son, Scott.
Maxine was born February 2, 1937, in Muscotah, Kansas. She retired from the Cedar Rapids Post Office in 1992. She was currently a volunteer at Mercy Medical Center. The most important thing in her life was her sons and grandchildren. Maxine was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. She will be deeply missed by all.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be directed to the Cedar Valley Human Society in memory of Maxine.
