Maxine E. Jones

Maxine E. Jones, 81, of 1221 15th Street SE, died Friday, February 28, 2003, at St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness. Graveside Services: 12:00 Noon Monday, March 3, 2003, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Bill Harnish. Arrangements are with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Helen Yeisley and husband James of Springville, Mary Hartgrave and husband Elmer, Teri Tuomala, all of Cedar Rapids, and Linda Buelow and husband LeRoy of Center Point; a daughter-in-law, Betty Jones of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Emery Kohl, Jr. of Atkins and Norman Kohl of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Walter; a grandson, Rickie; a great-grandson, Travis; a great-granddaughter, Alana; a sister, Mary; and a brother, Gaylord.
Maxine was born August 22, 1921, the daughter of Emery and Helen Weaver Kohl, in Lisbon, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Walter Jones on November 13, 1954, in Morrison, Illinois. He died in 1976. For 15 years, Maxine worked for the Holiday Inn in housekeeping. She loved to play bingo and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Maxine.
