Maxine C. Glass, 88, of the Vinton Lutheran Home, formerly of Cedar Rapids and Marshalltown, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, in Virginia Gay Hospital, Vinton, after a long illness. Services: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Gary Dobbins. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2003, at the funeral home. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Marshalltown.

Survivors include her son, E. Gary Glass and wife Margaret of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Gregg Glass of Cedar Rapids, and Melanie (Greg) Koenighain of Hiawatha; and three great-grandchildren, Stephanie Glass, Brenden and Kaylee Koenighain.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Golden and Anna Hoffman Mullinex; and her husband, George E. Glass, who passed away on November 23, 1990.

Maxine was born November 10, 1914, in Marshalltown, Iowa, where she lived most of her life. On October 10, 1934, she married George E. Glass in Marshalltown. Maxine was employed at Fisher Controls in the payroll department until she retired in 1977. In 1985, Maxine and George moved to Cedar Rapids, where they attended Sharon United Methodist Church. She enjoyed volunteering at the St. Luke?s Hospital Gift Shop for many years. Maxine loved to cook, knit and play the organ. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
