Maudie M. Klima, 83, of Center Point, died Friday, October 31, 2008, in her home following a brief illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Walker, by Father George Karnik. The family will greet friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, where a scripture service will begin at 5:30 p.m. Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Walker.
Survivors include her children, Roberta (Malcolm) Meader of Urbana, Roger Gager, Randy (Andria) Gager, Doug (Nancy) Klima, Kathy Raue, Kevin (Gwen) Klima, all of Center Point, Pam (Bill) Anderson of Vinton, Tammy (Dan) Linnabery of Atkins and Dan (Staci) Klima of Center Point; a daughter-in-law, Marcia Gager of Walker; a sister, Norma Jean Mielke of Wisconsin; and she was “Grandma Farm” to many grandchildren and many, many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin in 2004; her former husband, Robert in 1983; son, Rolly Gager; a great-grandson, Cameron Adams; three brothers, Bud, Bob and Rolly Schiff; and a sister, Lois Hill.
Maudie was born July 18, 1925, the daughter of Burnell and Meta (Hayes) Schiff, in Monona, Iowa. In April, 1944, she married Robert Gager. They later divorced. On May 23, 1953, she married Marvin Klima. A farm wife for over 50 years, Maudie and her husband Marvin also owned and operated Klima Tiling for many years.
She loved her life on the farm and enjoyed tending to her flowers and garden. Maudie was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Betty’s Grove Homemakers Club.
