Mary Maxine Weekly, 84, of Walker, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial: Walker Cemetery, Walker.

Maxine was born May 13, 1932 near Urbana, the daughter of Fred and Vera (Baldwin) Wiltsey. She graduated from Walker Consolidated School. Maxine married Harlan Lee Weekly on April 22, 1952, in Walker, and she was a farmer her entire life before she retired. Maxine enjoyed many sports including the Chicago Bulls, St. Louis Cardinals and the Hawkeyes basketball team. She loved challenging herself with crosswords and Sudoko puzzles. Maxine enjoyed game shows but when the weather was nice you could find her outside mowing, gardening and feeding her favorite birds finches and cardinals. She had a special love for her dogs. Maxine bowled for 50 years and was always competing in the Walker City Tournament. She also traveled to many national bowling tournaments. She was the Walker Bowling Association Secretary for many years.

Maxine is survived by her children, Debra (Roger) Henderson of Cedar Rapids, Randy (Janet) Weekly of Walker, Duane (Sharon) Weekly of Walker, and Marv Weekly (Gail Clary) of Bastrop, Louisiana; sister, Sharon Schoeberl of Marion; grandchildren, Jason Henderson of Center Point, Jesse Henderson (Christian Schiemder) of Madison, Wisconsin, David Weekly of Troy Mills, Jennifer (Matt) Hormann of Clarence, Matt Weekly of Cedar Rapids, and Dan (Laura) Weekly of Cedar Rapids; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Evelyn; step-mother, Ivah Wiltsey; brother-in-law, Gene Schoeberl, father-in-law, Hurley Weekly; mother-in-law, Iola Weekly; sister-in-law, Janet Dunn, brother-in-law, Irwin Dunn; sister-in-law, Norma Weekly; and brother-in-law, Keith Weekly.

A memorial fund has been established.
