Mary Jean Thiede, 77, of 3105 Willow Ridge Road, died Monday, May 10, 2004, in her home, following a brief illness. Services: 10 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2004, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion by Rev. John Gossman. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion where a vigil service will begin at 6 p.m. Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery in Anamosa.
Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl M. Kinnaird and husband George of Marion; two brothers, Patrick James O?Meara and wife Mary of Edina, Minnesota and John O?Meara of Moline, Illinois; a sister, Anne Wampfler and husband Joe of DeWitt; and two grandchildren, Brian T. and Leah K. Kinnaird.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Robert M.; and a sister, Rita O?Meara.
Mary Jean was born April 25, 1927, the daughter of Patrick and Elizabeth (Costello) O?Meara in Petersville, Iowa. On September 30, 1950, she married Robert L. Thiede in Delmar. He died July 5, 1997. Mary Jean enjoyed boating and fishing at Lake Delhi. She loved music, playing cards, games, crossword puzzles, scratch tickets and the occasional trip to "the boats? or Tama. Mary Jean loved people, talking and laughing with family, friends and even strangers and going for walks with her grand-dog, Zoe.
