Mary Ditch (Snobl)

Mary Ditch, 93, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, May 10, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, after a short illness. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion, by the Rev. Robert David. Burial: Shiloh Cemetery, Hiawatha. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 -- 7 p.m. Monday.
Survivors include her children, Arnold (Dolores) Ditch and Delbert (Donna) Ditch, both of Cedar Rapids, Stanley (Dorothy) Ditch of Ely, Mary (David) Shakespeare of Toddville, Larry (Sharon) Ditch of Cedar Rapids and Leonard (Patricia) Ditch of Maquoketa; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers, Joe, Jim and Frank Snobl; and a sister, Bessie Krajsa.
Mary was born September 28, 1913, in Sanborn, North Dakota, the daughter of James and Anna (Strasil) Snobl. She was united in marriage to Francis Ditch on April 28, 1930, in Muscatine, and they farmed in the Bertram area. Francis died in 1960.
A memorial fund has been established for Hospice of Mercy in memory of Mary.
