Mary Regnier, 80, of Marion, died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion. The family will greet friends: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, where a vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Norbert; two sons, Kenneth and Kevin Regnier, both of Marion; and siblings, Math (Diane) Sirek, John Sirek, Sister Adelia Sirek, Rosanne Solheid, and Ann (Alfred) Zaun.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Joseph, Frances, and Catherine.
Mary was born October 13, 1931 in New Prague, MN, the daughter of Mathias and Bessie (Barta) Sirek. She married Norbert Regnier on May 14, 1960 in Veseli, MN. Mary worked as an instrument inspector and adjuster at Rockwell Collins. She was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion. Mary enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, collecting bird figurines, and mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her children.
