Mary Agnes Pazour (Pisney)
March 1, 1917 — July 7, 2009
Mary Agnes Pazour, 92, of Marion, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha. Funeral Mass: time to be determined on Monday, July 13, 2009, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, by Father Christopher Podhajsky. The family will greet friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2009, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion. Burial: Czech National Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Mary is survived by her sister, Bess (Bill) McCann of Fair Oaks, California; a daughter, Mary Lou Pazour of Marion; and a son, John (Cassandra) Pazour of Centennial, Colorado. She is also survived by her grandson, Jason (Stella) Pazour, and their children, Lucian and Eavan all of Geddington, England; and grandson, Joshua (Jennifer) Pazour, and their children, Indira and Natasha, all of Golden, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and sisters, Josephine Matus, and Delphine Matus.
Mary was born March 1, 1917, in Linn County, to Adolph and Marie (Stary) Pisney. She was married to Louis Pazour on April 12, 1935, in Anamosa. He died in November, 1961. Mary was a graduate of the Wisconsin School of Banking in 1974, and retired as Controller of Wells Fargo Bank in Marion, in 1983. She was a member of the Marion Business Girls, Milwaukee Railroad Women’s Club, and a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Mary loved gardening, sewing, woodworking, and being with her family.
