Mary Ann Masterhan, 76, a resident of Linn Manor Care Center, formerly of Central City, died Saturday, August 9, 2008, at the care center, from complications of Alzheimer’s. Services: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City by Grant Hagen. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City.

Survivors include her children, Patricia (Bill) Boyd of Cedar Rapids, Susan (Rick) Matthews of Central City, Wendy (Alan) Wall of Central City, Victor (Debbie) Masterhan of Central City, and Linda (Chris) Long of Marion; a sister, Nellie (Milton) Palmer; a sister-in-law, Doris King; four grandchildren, Lindsay, Zach, Noel, and Verle; and one great-grandson, Elijah and another soon to be.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Verle; her parents; and a brother, Vincent “Bud” Priebe.

Mary was born June 29, 1932, in Scott County, the daughter of Vincent and Ruby (Wilson) Priebe. She graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to Verle V. Masterhan on October 17, 1959, in Bettendorf. He died November 7, 1998. Mary worked at Winslow House Care Center and Hy-Vee Bakery for many years.

She enjoyed playing cards, reading, fishing, and spending time with her family.
