Mary M. Little, 54, of Marion, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at her home. The family will greet guests from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, with a vigil service to begin at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion. Private Family Inurnment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, will take place at a later date.

Survivors include her husband, Paul; mother, Gladys Hannan of Sterling, IL; two brothers, David (Andrea) Hannan of Arlington Heights, IL, and William (MaryBeth) Hannan of Savannah, GA; five sisters, Karen (Ken) Reynolds of Sterling, IL, Kathy (Lew) Wescott of Sterling, IL, Barb (Ron) Newlon of Rock Falls, IL, Janet (Bob) Chandler of Marion, and Joleen (Oscar) Cortez of Sterling, IL; two brothers-in-law, John Little and David (Lisa) Little both of Tampico, IL; two sisters-in-law, Rose (Randy) Miller of MI, and Debbra Little of Sterling, IL; nieces and nephews, Michael Hannan, Timothy Hannan, Denice (John) Froiland, Godchild Danny (Tracy) Rivera, Seth Wescott, Thad Wescott, Tyler (Amanda) Wescott, Renee (Grant) Gilliland, Ryne Newlon, Shea Newlon, Carrie (Trent) Fish, Kim (Michael) Biechler, Sam Hannan, Isaac Hannan, Godchild Maggie Hannan, Nicole Cortez, Mateo Cotez, Brayden Cortez, Elizabeth (Doug) Hughes, Nicolette Miller, Cassie Little, Irial Little, and Alanna Little; great-nieces and great-nephews, Elijah Froiland, Isabella Froiland, David Froiland, Jake Rivera, Josie Rivera, Maya Rivera, Hanna Wescott, Kyle Wescott, Mikaela Wescott, Nora Gilliland, Jaelyn Fish, Jaxon Fish, Jace Dowdy, Collin Hughes, Audrey Hughes, and Godchild John Jr. Obenauf; honorary nephews, Colin and Ian Ray; Godmother and Aunt, Mary Jane Foley; Aunt Phyllis Hannan; Aunt Glenna and Uncle Wade Wickline; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, William F. Hannan; paternal grandmother, Margaret Hannan; paternal grandfather, William M. “Bobby” Hannan; maternal grandfather, Joseph P. Murphy; and maternal grandmother, Bernice (Brown) Murphy.

Mary was born March 29, 1960 in Sterling, IL, the daughter of William F. and Gladys M. (Murphy) Hannan. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1978, and went on to Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. Mary earned her BA in business from Mt. Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, and her Master’s Degree in business from Nova University. She married Paul Little on October 13, 1979, in Sterling. Mary was a manager in regulatory compliance with Rockwell Collins for 35 years. She had friends all over the world; her work allowed her to build relationships and friendships in numerous countries. Mary thanks everyone for their prayers and support over the last year.

The world will forever be different without Mary, just as the world is different because of Mary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion to be used for Catholic education.
