Mary L. Kaufman, 83, of 337 Cherry Hill Rd. NW, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, July 2, 2005, in her home, surrounded by her family. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Ron Lewis. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at the funeral home. Burial: National Cemetery, Vining, Iowa.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharlene Hanson and Linda Triggiani, both of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred Jesina of Toledo, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Gertrude Musel of Chelsea, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; one brother; two sisters; and a son-in-law, Terry Triggiani.
Mary was born February 26, 1922, the daughter of Frank and Emma Dvorak Jesina, in Clutier, Iowa. On September 10, 1941, she was united in marriage to Edward Kaufman in Clutier. He died in 1989. Together with her husband, they farmed in the Clutier/Elberon area for many years. Mary later worked at Amana and retired from the Cedar Rapids Police Department. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking and quilting. Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
