Mary M. Hiskey

Mary M. Hiskey, 79, formerly of Hiawatha, died Monday, October 6, 2003, at Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Memorial Services: 11 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2003, at First United Methodist Church in Lorimor, Iowa, by the Rev. Sandra Smith. Inurnment: Lorimor Cemetery. Arrangements are by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include her children, Wilma (Russ) Hanson of Melbourne, Florida, Marlene (Robert) Steadman of Hiawatha, Donna (Larry) Jons of Central City, Jean (Richard) Schultz of Iowa City, Charles (Michele) Herman of Cedar Rapids and Cheryl Klima of Rineyville, Kentucky; a sister, Charity (Lyle) Hyke of Cedar Rapids; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; two sisters; two brothers; and a great-grandchild.
Mary was the daughter of Orville and Gertrude Mossberg Reid on September 7, 1924, in Linn County, Iowa. In 1940, she married Frank Herman. She married Lester Hiskey in 1976, in Lorimor, Iowa. He died in December 2002. Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Mary.
