Mary Heideman, 89, formerly of Coggon, died Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at the Rockridge Care Center, Shellsburg, following a lengthy illness. Services: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 27, 2004, at Peace Lutheran Church, Ryan, by Rev. Roger McKinstry. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Friday, November 26, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Burial: Coggon Cemetery, Coggon.
Survivors include four grandchildren, Mark Smith of Atlanta, Georgia, Hal Smith of Cedar Rapids, Tim Smith of Center Point and Mary Smith of Omaha, Nebraska; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, a daughter, Jo Ann Smith; a son, Thomas Heideman; and two brothers.
Mary was born September 7, 1915, the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Paskvan in Des Moines, Iowa. On June 4, 1933, she married Dr. Harold F. Heideman in Des Moines. He died on July 18, 1981. Mary was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Cedar Rapids Bowling Hall of Fame in 1989.
