Mary Warner Frye, 82, of Marion, Iowa, passed away at Winslow House Care Center, Marion, Friday, April 22, 2011, of a failing heart. Mary Aline Warner was born October 10, 1928, to David and Edna Warner at the family home near Wooster, Ohio, with her maternal grandmother serving as midwife. Her remains have been cremated. She attended Wooster public schools. She married Eugene O. Frye on July 8, 1951, at Oak Chapel United Methodist Church near Wooster. After assisting her husband finish his education, she became a full time homemaker. They lived in Jackson, MI area for several years before relocating to Cedar Rapids and Marion in 1955-56.

While her health permitted, Mrs. Frye volunteered in a number of community projects and organizations. In her own quiet way, she helped many young people cope with the issues of growing up. She was a life-long member of the Oak Chapel Church.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene; brother John Warner of Wooster; a daughter, Marie (Mrs. W.T. Hubbard), grandson Ryan Hubbard, granddaughter Gabrielle Hubbard, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Elizabeth, and Elizabeth’s son, David Martinez.

A memorial service is planned for a later date at Oak Chapel United Methodist Church with burial at the church’s Pioneer Cemetery.
