Mary Patricia "Pat? Frederick, 72, of Springville, died Wednesday, September 10, 2003, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a sudden illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2003, at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Springville, by the Rev. David Ambrosy. Friends may call today (Thursday) from 4 to 8 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion, with a Rosary and parish Vigil service to begin at 6 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to service time on Friday at the church. Burial: Springville Cemetery.
Surviving are her husband of forty-one years, Jim; four sons, Michael (Dawn) Frederick of Springville, Donald (Marsha) Frederick of Cedar Rapids, Ronald (Jennifer) Frederick of Martelle and Thomas Frederick of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Susan Frederick of Springville; three sisters, Shirley (Jay) Simmons of Walker, Mary Jane (Ed) Gustoff of Center Point and Sharon (John) Drahozal of Solon.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Heather, Eric, Taylor, Bailey, Harley, Grace, Samantha, Alexander and Morgan. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was born the daughter of Raymond and Irene (Weber) Strang on September 21, 1930, in Independence. Pat graduated from Walker High School in 1948. She married James Frederick on May 12, 1962, in Walker. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church in Springville.
Pat was an avid Barbie doll collector and enjoyed sewing and quilting by hand.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Pat was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all.
