Mary Ann Denny, 73, of Cedar Rapids, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2017, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids by Father Mark Reasoner. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff; her son, Aaron (Mandy) Denny; two step-daughters, Alicia Denny and Rochelle (Chris) Northrup; six grandchildren, Gwendalynn, Caiden, Oliver, Zachary, Anthony, and Hayden; her siblings, Butch (Glenda) Michel, Bob (Barb) Michel, Don (Sue) Michel, and Dan (Deb) Michel; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Ann Donovan; grandson, Matthew Denny; a brother, Gary Michel; and a sister, Pat Kirk.
Mary was born January 5, 1944, the daughter of Gregory and Mabel (Silver) Michel in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On May 17, 1980, she married Jeff Denny in Cedar Rapids.
Mary loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, taking family photos and traveling with her husband. Her faith was very important to her, along with her family and friends.
