Mary Elizabeth Davis, 65, of 2320 Catskill St. SW, went home to be with Jesus, Friday, March 7, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a heart attack. Services: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Steven J. Rosonke. Friends may call from 4-8, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 10, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: St. John?s Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence (Spike); her children, Terri Archibald and husband, Jim, Dan Davis, Mike Davis, Patty Greiner and husband, Jerry, Cathy Piper and husband, Darrell, Mark Davis and special friend, Beth, and Matt Davis and ex-wife, Jody; 24 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Joseph W. Pooler.
Mary was born, September 27, 1937, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, the daughter of J. Wilson and Leona (Cromes) Pooler. She married Lawrence Davis on August 2, 1956, in Fort Meade, Maryland. Mary was currently cooking at Linwood Apartments and a member of St. Patrick?s Catholic Church. She enjoyed cake decorating for all occasions and sharing her gift of cooking with those she loved. Mary?s true joys in life were her faith in Jesus Christ and spending time with her family and friends.
