Mary K. Conger, 60, of 416 Norwick Rd. SW, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, December 20, 2003, in her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Services: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2003, at St. Jude Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father Don Czapla. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where a scripture service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her husband, Bernard; her children, Mary (Gordon) Kaltenbach, Patty (Wayne) McKinstry, all of Cedar Rapids, Steve Conger of Pacheco, California, and Tim Conger of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Tara Conger, Ashlee McKinstry, Brittany Hobart, Kaeli Hobart, Adam McKinstry, Micah McKinstry, Olivia McKinstry, Kira Kaltenbach, Kristina Kaltenbach, Nichole Kaltenbach; and Bryton Kaltenbac,; a great-grandchild, Kian Davis; three brothers, Mike (Renee) Bucklin of Cedar Rapids, Robert (Wendy) Bucklin of Marion, and Tim (Mary) Bucklin of Deddington, Oxford England; many nieces and nephews; and a host of great friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis L. and Mary G. Bucklin; two brothers, Willian Bucklin and Patrick Bucklin; a sister, Patricia Bucklin; and a son-in-law, Brian Hobart.

Mary was born October 15, 1943, the daughter of Francis and Mary Dwyer Bucklin, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On January 11, 1964, she was united in marriage to Bernard Conger. For 30 years, Mary worked in Food Services, most recently at Hy-Vee Food Stores. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, a Mary Kay Consultant, and a "Packer Backers.?

Mary was the most beautiful woman. All who have known or met her have been touched in a special way. Whether she was comforting them in difficult times or sharing in their joy, her love was felt by all. Mary was never one to pass judgment on others but accepted all with grace. She had a way of making everyone?s heart smile.

At the request of Mary, the family would like to give special thanks to Johnson Avenue Hy-Vee, Dr. Ghosh and all the wonderful nurses at Iowa Blood and Cancer Care Office, and Mercy Hospice, especially, Linda Richards and Theresa Baldus-Kokontis.

A memorial fund has been established in memory of Mary.
