Mary E. Buelow, 88, of 1218 Center St. NE, died Sunday, May 11, 2003, at Mercy Hallmar, following complications of congestive heart failure. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Del Bear. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include a son, Don (Dorothy) Long of Rocky Mount, Missouri; and two sisters, Helen Bailey of Canogo Park, California, and Ann Munson of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; and four brothers, Matt, Mike, Tony and Don Macek.
Mary was born June 13, 1914, the daughter of Matt and Mary Macek, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On July 23, 1955, she was united in marriage to Ernest Buelow in Cedar Rapids. He died May 25, 1997. For 27 years, Mary worked on the assembly line at Collins Radio. She loved to sew and was very supportive of her family. She will be dearly missed.
