Mary Alice Booth, 86, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Survivors include her children, Teresa (Joe) Krivanek, Laura Booth and James (Patty) Booth; grandchildren, Stephanie Werling, Tammy Krivanek, Joe M. Krivanek, Alicia Johnson, Cory Johnson, Adam Booth, Maggie Booth, Miranda Booth, Cassie Booth, Victoria Booth and Hunter Booth; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard Booth; and brothers and sisters.
Mary was born on May 11, 1931, in Springfield, Illinois, daughter of James and Frankie (Campbell) Paydon. She was a graduate of St. Luke’s School of Nursing in 1951 and worked as a Pediatric Nurse. On December 24, 1951, Leonard and Mary (Paydon) Booth were united in marriage at Geneseo United Methodist Church. She was a master gardener, former Girl Scout leader, founding member at Asbury United Methodist Church, was in card club and sang in the church choir. Mary loved animals but she especially loved her family.
