Mary Linda (Clements) Biggart, 64, of Marion, formerly of Springville, died Saturday, October 4, 2008, at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2008, at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Springville. The family will greet friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion where a vigil service will begin at 6 p.m. Burial: Springville Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa (Tony) Buck of Mt. Vernon and Laura Biggart of Urbandale; a son, Roger Biggart of Marion; a step-daughter, Theresa Biggart of Florida; five grandchildren, Kiaya and Nick Gardner, Marissa Buck, and Bonnie and Sam Biggart; longtime friends, Dale Schafer and Marlis Benedict; and a grandpuppy, Copper.
Also surviving are her siblings, Frank Clements of Springville, Larry (Carol) Clements of Ozark, Missouri, Clayton (Elma) Clements of Marion, Twyla (Dale) Hall of Gulf Port, Mississippi, Missouri, Phyllis (Bruce) Wagner of Marion, Steven Clements of Houston, Texas, and Tim Clements of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two stepsons, Christopher and Kenric Biggart.
Mary Linda was born December 8, 1943, the daughter of Manuel and Lillian (Wellington) Clements in Cedar County. She worked for Pennick & Ford and Collins Credit Union. She was a volunteer at Polk and Wellington Heights Schools and Habitat for Humanity.
No one was a stranger to Mary Linda. She was a very happy, loving, positive, giving, and spiritual person. Mary Linda was a devoted mother and grandmother who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mary Linda's memory.
