Marvin H. Spinler, 90, a resident of Central City, died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, in Hiawatha Care Center, following a short illness. Services: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Central City by the Rev. Jonna Jensen. Burial: Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Friday) at the funeral home and on Saturday one hour prior to service time.

Surviving are his children, Helen Clemen and her husband Bob of Masonville and Melvin Spinler and his wife Shirley of Central City; seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Viola Schlemme of Monticello.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy, a great-grandson, Trent Schmid, two brothers, Charlie and Raymond Spinler and two sisters, Eunice Gienapp and Lola Clark.

He was born on August 14, 1912, in Waubeek to James and Gertrude McCann Spinler. On June 14, 1934, in Dubuque, he was united in marriage to Dorothy L. Wilcox. She died May 11, 2002. Marvin was a longtime area farmer.
