Marvin Maynard Ham

Marvin M. Ham, 84, formerly of Earlville, Iowa, died Thursday, March 25, 2004 at the Penn Center, Delhi of cancer.
Inurnment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 3 at Fairview Cemetery in Earlville with military rites by Earlville American Legion Post #436. Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Earlville is in charge of arrangements.
Marvin was born the son of Maynard and Beulah (Kruger) Ham, on May 5, 1919 in Earlville. He attended Earlville School and worked as a farmhand. Marvin served in the United States Army from March 27, 1941 until December 19, 1945. He was stationed in the Southern Philippine Islands during World War II where he received the Good Conduct Medal and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. Upon discharge, Marvin worked for the Illinois Central Railroad. He later moved to Cedar Rapids to work for Iowa Steel. Marvin returned to Earlville in the 1960?s and did odd jobs and later began milking cows for the Delaware County Home. He was a resident of the Penn Center since 1970.
Marvin enjoyed watching television and fixing watches and radios.
Marvin is survived by a brother, Ervin (Vivian) Ham of Earlville; two nieces, Connie (Jim) O?Connell and Elaine (Ron) Diesburg of Earlville; three great-nieces and a great-nephew; and a special cousin, Betty Sprague of Dubuque.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard & Beulah Ham.
