Marvin Leinart, 87, of 2131 1st Avenue SE, Apt. 108, died, Monday, October 21, 2002 in Grand Island, NE. following a long battle with heart disease. Services: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2002, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, by the Pastor Kay Slocum of First Lutheran Church. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2002, at the funeral home. Burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly; a daughter, Jackie Davis and husband Les of Sioux City, Iowa; two sons, Robert Leinart and wife Myrna of Fort Collins, Colorado and Ron Leinart and wife Tina of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; two stepsons, David Stotelmyre and wife Holly of Cedar Rapids and Larry Stotelmyre and wife, Samantha of Wellington, Colorado; and eleven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Charlotte; a grandson, Mark; two sisters, Helen Collins and Pearl Neal; and his brothers, Orvie and Raymond, who died in infancy.

Born November 1, 1914, in Elk Point, South Dakota, to Bert and Meta Winter Leinart, he married Charlotte Blasl on August 8, 1936. She died in April of 1984. On May 26, 1990, he married Beverly Humble Stotelmyre, in Cedar Rapids. In his late teens, Marvin served in the Civilian Conservation Corp. in Custer, South Dakota, for three years. After returning to Sioux City, Iowa, in 1936, he began his career as an over-the-road driver. In 1946, Marvin became an auto transport driver with a company eventually becoming Commercial Carriers, Inc. of Dearborn, Michigan. He attended First Lutheran Church and was a member of Moose Lodge #304.

Marvin was a kind and loving man whose hugs and affection will be missed by many. He was a great guy and friend to all who knew him.
