Marvin Leo Christiansen, 73, who lived his whole life on a farm on Red Bridge Road in Prairieburg, Iowa, died Friday, November 6, 2015. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at St. Peter Paul Lutheran Church, Monticello, Iowa. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Prairie Hill Cemetery, Monticello. Arrangements by: Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, Iowa.
Survivors include three sisters, Ruth Kray of Anamosa, Iowa, Edna Behnke of Prairieburg, Iowa, and Velda McCormick of Olin, Iowa; one brother, LaVerne Christiansen of Alburnett, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Marvin was born May 15, 1942, the son of Paul and Lorna (Gienapp) Christiansen in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Marv was a “forever child” who enjoyed fishing, playing cards, puzzle books, making paper chains, coloring, wrestling, polka music and helping on the farm.
