Marty J. Ryan, 52, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, June 11, 2009, in his home. Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2009, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father Chris Podhajsky. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where a Vigil service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Krista; his children, Kelley Ryan and her special friend Isaac Klemish of Eldridge and Timothy Ryan of Des Moines; his mother, Mary Ellen Ryan; three sisters, Pat (Dan) Doyle of Manchester, Therese (Jim Dunne) Ryan of Iowa City, and Sheila (Mike) Fetters of Swisher; and three brothers, Kevin (Theresa) Ryan of Ryan, Dan (Debbie) Ryan of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Terry (Lynne) Ryan of Coggon; and his mother and father-in-law, Gary and Kay Bowser of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his father, James.
Marty was born October 17, 1956, the son of James and Mary Ellen (Keenan) Ryan, Jr., in Manchester, Iowa. He married Krista Bowser on September 13, 2007, in Las Vegas, Nevada. For 33 years, Marty worked for Rinderknecht Construction where he has been a foreman. He was a member of the Laborers Local #43.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Marty.
