Martha Mary Macklin
June 15, 1921 — May 18, 2018
Martha M. Macklin, 96, of Ankeny, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018, at Mill Pond Long Term Care in Ankeny. Services: 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2018 at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation is one hour before service at the funeral home, Deanna Herwald and Kendra Kemp officiating.
Martha was born June 15, 1921, to Herman and Opal (Holman) Knaack in Hurdland, Missouri. She married Harold Paul Macklin on December 7, 1940, in Lancaster, Missouri. They enjoyed fishing together, and taking many trips to the Gulf Coast. Martha and Paul lived in Cedar Rapids for over fifty years. She moved to Ankeny after Paul’s death in 1997.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Pace and husband Richard of Geneseo, Illinois, and Sharon Winistorfer and husband Stan of Cedar Rapids; son, Mike Macklin and wife Sandy of Ankeny; seven grandchildren, Mark Pace, Scott Pace, Amy Murray, Kendra Kemp, Deanna Herwald, Lindsay Macklin and Josh Macklin; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Paul; and all of her siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Helen G. Nassif Cancer Institute in Martha’s memory.
