Martalyn “Marty” Jones, 84, of Des Moines, formerly of Earlville passed away Thursday, November 6, 2008, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 11, at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 4003 2nd Avenue, Des Moines; burial will be 3:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Earlville. Friends may visit with family Monday, November 10, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines.
Marty was born on July 10, 1924 to Martin and Amelia Yelden in Earlville, Iowa
Marty was a charter member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church of and was involved in many different activities. She enjoyed playing cards and volunteering.
Marty is survived by her daughter, Maralyn (George) Burnside of Des Moines, Iowa; a sister, Margaret Kragenbrink of Manchester, a nephew, Gene (Melody) Kragenbrink of Ankeny; nieces, Joanne (Jim) Laxson of Earlville, and Carol State of Denver, Colorado.
Marty was preceded in death by her husband, of 40 years; her parents, Martin and Amelia Yeldon; a sister, a nephew and a niece.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Des Moines in loving memory of Marty.
