Mart E. Phelps, 68, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, January 9, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2010, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Private Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include a sister, Ila Thorn of Vinton; three sisters-in-law, Pat Phelps, Ruby Phelps and Evelyn Phelps; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Morris, Dorn, George and two infant brothers; and a sister, Vivian Phelps.
Mart was born June 3, 1941, in Urbana, Iowa. He served in the United States Army. Mart retired from the Downing Box Factory.
