Marsha C. Sanders, 77, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Christmas Day, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids (5338 Johnson Ave SW). Marsha was born on February 2, 1945 in Waterloo, Iowa, to Norman and Dorothy Bergen. She attended Northwestern College in Roseville, Minnesota, where she met her husband of just over 55 years, David Sanders. The first time he saw Marsha, David told his brother, “That’s the girl for me.” Throughout the years, Marsha worked as a secretary/bookkeeper at various places, including Calvary Baptist Church, Pratt Audio Visual and Data Management.
Marsha loved listening to music, enjoyed playing the piano, going on walks, and reading. She loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She enjoyed attending church from the time she was a little girl and would play the piano or organ at church. She was a member of New Covenant Bible Church but attended Calvary Baptist when her health worsened. She also enjoyed her grand-dogs Ranger, Recon, Smoky, Sadie and Bailey.
Marsha is survived by her husband, David of Cedar Rapids; son, Michael (Rebecca) Sanders of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Emily (Rev.
