Marlene J. Wilber, 57 of Center Point, died, Sunday, August 26, 2007, at Guttenburg Memorial Hospital and Thomas A. Wilber, 58 of Center Point, died Monday, August 27, 2007, at University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, Iowa City, as a result of injuries of a motorcycle accident. Services: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at the funeral home. Burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
They are survived by their children, Dawn Wilber of Alburnett and Chad Wilber of Center Point; Marlene’s brother, Jerry Moen of Stewartville, Minnesota; Tom’s brother, Wes (Dana) Wilber of Columbus, Ohio; Tom’s sister, Priscilla (Donald) Miller of Indiana; Tom’s mother, Mary Ann Wilber of Marion; and Tom’s father, Robert Wilber and stepbrother and stepsisters, Christopher, Daniel and Romney Wilber, all of Macon, Illinois.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents.
Marlene was born February 13, 1950, the daughter of John and Irene (Pape) Moen in West Union, Iowa. Tom was born February 14, 1949, the son of Robert and Mary Ann (Dvorak) Wilber in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In September of 1970, they were united in marriage in Marion, Iowa. Marlene worked as an office manager for the City Assessor Office in Cedar Rapids. Tom was self-employed in car restoration. Together, they enjoyed gambling, riding their bike and were members of the Cedar Valley Street Rod Club.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Marlene and Tom.
