Marlene Lea Johnson, 76, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, November 29, 2013, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Funeral Services: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service Wednesday. Burial: Campbell Cemetery, Bertram.

Survivors include her children, Robin Snitker of Mt. Vernon, Robert Johnson, Jr. of Cedar Rapids, and Brian Johnson of Cedar Rapids; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Lois Michalek of Marion, Gerald Stolte of Anamosa, and LeRoy Stolte of Stanwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Robert.

Marlene was born in Iowa City on May 22, 1937, the daughter of Raymond and Dollie (Capron) Stolte. She graduated from Olin High School in 1954. On August 13, 1955, she was united in marriage to Robert Johnson in Cedar Rapids. She worked for Rockwell for 30 years, and then and Montgomery Ward for six years after her retirement. Her interests included sewing, cooking, arts and crafts, gardening, camping and fishing. She loved to gamble, and was a “good luck charm” always leaving with a win. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
