Mark M. Taylor, 46, of Toddville, Iowa, a lifelong resident of Linn County, died Friday, July 24, 2009, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at First Assembly of God Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Darran Whiting. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his parents; sister, Shelly (Joe) McVay of Cedar Rapids; and one niece, Morgan.
Born October 21, 1962, in Robins, Iowa, Mark was the son of Richard and Janice (Hefti) Taylor. He was a graduate of Kennedy High School, Coe College and Mt. Mercy College. Mark received his master’s degree from the University of Alabama. He was a deputy with the Linn County Sheriffs Department for 23 years.
Mark was a member of the Mt. Herman Lodge #263 A.F.&A.M., the Cedar Rapids Consistory and had been an Eagle Scout.
