Mark Allen Sholes PhD, 66, of Center Point, died Sunday, May 3, 2009, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point by Rev. John Caughron. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial: Center Point Cemetery.
Survivors include his son, Aaron of Chicago; two brothers, Jon (Donna) Sholes of Center Point and Bruce (Jeanette) Sholes of Walker.
Mark was born January 4, 1943, the son of Jack and Roberta (Haars) Sholes in Chicago. He served with the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Mark married Brenda Romans on September 27, 1969, in Arlington, Virginia. They later divorced. Mark taught at Montana Tech University, retiring in 2008.
