Mark “Trail” Locke, 52, of Marion, formerly of Coggon and Cedar Rapids, died Friday, October 17, 2008, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, from injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Rick Gail. There will be no visitation.
Survivors include his parents, Dean and Dorothy Locke of Coggon; two daughters, Mary Locke of Portland, Oregon and Karen Locke of Minneapolis, Minnesota; his best friend and significant other, Lori Andrews and her daughter, Andrea Schneider of Marion; a brother David Locke of Wichita, Kansas; and a niece and nephew, Michael and Jackie Locke of Wichita.
Mark was born September 13, 1956, the son of Dean and Dorothy (Dake) Locke in Wichita Falls, Texas. He graduated from North Linn High School in 1974. In November of 1978 he married Constance Kolacz in Cedar Rapids. They divorced after twenty years of marriage. Mark was a longtime motorcycle enthusiast and mechanic, and had owned and operated Trail’s Custom Cycle in Cedar Rapids for many years. He had most recently worked at Ralston Foods. Mark was a very generous person, willing to help any and all around him.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mark’s memory.
