Mark Edward Kjormoe, 48, of Anamosa, Iowa, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Anchor Bible Church in Center Point, Iowa. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Anchor Bible Church in Center Point, Iowa. Interment will follow at Stavanger Friends Cemetery in Le Grand, Iowa.

Mark was born on September 19, 1976, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Kennedy High School and The University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor’s in criminal justice. He was united in marriage to Heather Renee Clarke on October 23, 2004, in Hiawatha, Iowa. On September 9, 1999, he began his 25-year tenure as a patrol officer with the Marion Police Department family, later rising to Corporal Kjormoe and ultimately serving as Patrol Sergeant Kjormoe. He had a notable enthusiasm for traffic enforcement and found fulfillment in writing tickets.

During high school, he qualified for the national archery tournament. Mark shared a deep passion for AMA motocross with his son, Cole, as they traveled and enjoyed racing at Sunset Ridge in Illinois. Mark found joy in family time, especially during their children's sporting events and school activities, such as Gabbi's track meets and Grace's performances in the choir. He enjoyed hunting and looked forward to snowmobile adventures in Laramie, Wyoming. Moreover, he took satisfaction in managing their acreage and perfecting the motocross track he had created for his family. He was a huge fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include his spouse, Heather Kjormoe; children, Grace, Cole, and Gabbi; mother, Brenda Kjormoe; siblings, Steve (Valeria) Kjormoe, Mike (Michelle) Kjormoe, Kim (Scott) Banes, Kristi (Chris) Happ, Kelli (Don) Westendorf; Father and Mother-in-law, Harold (Barb) Clarke; sister-in-law, Amber (Chris) McGuan; brother-in-law, Travis Clarke; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard “Dick” Kjormoe.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be in the care of Heather Kjormoe.
