Marjorie Ann Wendt, 79, of Delaware, died Monday, June 27, 2005 in her home following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30 at St. Paul?s Lutheran Church in Delaware. Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Earlville and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Pine View Cemetery, Delaware.
Marjorie was born the daughter of Clarence S. and Mary (Nieman) Milroy on July 2, 1925 in Lamont. She attended Delaware High School through 10th grade and graduated from Oneida High School in 1942. Marjorie met Dale Wendt at Walther League through the church, as a youth. On December 26, 1944 the couple was united in marriage at St. Paul?s Lutheran Church in Delaware. She taught at Rogers Crossing near Central City from 1943-1945 and Spring Branch from 1946-1948. Marjorie then became a homemaker and mother.
Marjorie enjoyed needle point, embroidery, baking and flower gardening. She was a sports fan and a Chicago Cub lover. Marjorie especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marjorie is survived by her husband, Dale Wendt of Delaware; five children, Robert (Karen) of Manchester, Sheryl (Joe) Biondahl of Thor, Dave (Debra) of Delhi, Karl (Mary) of Hopkinton and Evan (Diane) of Delhi; fifteen grandchildren, Sarah (Jamie) Gyolai, Abbie (Nick) Thompson, Tiersa (Jeff) Frasher, Noah, Seth, Natalie, Emily, Ryan, Sheena, Aaron, Colin, Jennifer, Michael Kelly and Angie Wendt; four great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Bryn, Landin and Willow; five sisters, Maxine (A.C.) McClain of Bella Vista, AR, Marita (Dick) Daniels of Morristown, NJ and Melva Platt of Manchester; Marlene (Bill) Sawyier of Albuquerque, NM, and Mary Lou (Denny) Hunter of Federal Way, WA.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence (1966) & Mary (1986) Milroy; and two infant sons, Gary in 1945 and Neil in 1958.
A memorial fund has been established in Marjorie?s memory.
