Marjorie Ann Penney, 78, of Coralville, formerly of Springville, died Wednesday, November 23, 2005, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, following a brief illness. Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2005, at Springville Presbyterian Church by Rev. Karen Downey Beals. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.

Survivors include her children, Val (Cindy) Penney of Iowa City, Dee Ann (Steve) Lundgren of Lenexa, Kansas and Bret Penney and Cindy Larkin of Solon; five grandchildren, Joseph and Seth Penney and Ryan, Carter and Bryce Lundgren; and two sisters, Jean (Amos) Brandenburg of Fredericksburg and Mary Fern (Ralph) Granneman of Odessa, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean; and an infant son.

Marjorie was born June 19, 1927, in Hawkeye, the daughter of Alfred and Hazel (Schrader) Foot. She graduated from Hawkeye High School in 1944 and later graduated from Gates Business College. On May 23, 1954, she married Dean M. Penney at Hawkeye, Iowa. He died August 8, 1999. Marjorie worked as a secretary at Herrick Refrigeration for several years and then at Andrew Community Schools in Andrew, Iowa for several years. She then worked as a secretary at Linn-Mar High School in the administration office from 1978-1986.

Marjorie was active as a member of Springville Presbyterian Church and was involved in the Ladies Circle. She adored her children and grandchildren and will be remembered dearly by friends and family as a caring and loving person.
