Marjorie M. Nodurft, 86, of Manchester, Iowa, died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at the Good Neighbor Home, following a brief illness. Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2003, Our Savior Lutheran Church, Manchester, with Rev. David C. Weber officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2003 at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester. Friends may also call from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Tuesday morning at the church. Burial: Oakland Cemetery in Manchester.

Marjorie was born January 2, 1917, near Delaware, Iowa, the daughter of Martin Maurer and Henrietta Nieman Maurer.She was baptized February 1, 1917 at her parent?s home near Delaware, Iowa by Rev. H. Kettler. She was confirmed April 28, 1929 at St. Paul?s Lutheran Church, Delaware, Iowa. Marjorie married Raymond L. Nodurft on July 24, 1949 at St. Paul?s Lutheran Church, Delaware, Iowa, by Rev. Theo Rottman. She attended Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, Iowa. She taught a total of 41 years; nine years rural schools of Delaware County, three years at Greeley, Iowa, 11 years at Gladbrook, Iowa and 18 years in Wyoming, Iowa. She retired in June 1979.

Marjorie was past president of the Women?s Organization of the Zion Lutheran Church, Wyoming, Iowa during the 90th Anniversary of the Church. She held every office in the Women?s Organization of the Church, also teaching Sunday School several years. She was also a member of the Women?s Progressive Club and the Wyoming Fair Association. Marjorie was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church since August 1986 and served on most of the offices of the Ladies Women?s Missionary League. She was also a member of the Delaware County Senior Center Board for several years.

Marjorie is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Raymond L. Nodurft; a sister, Marietta Johnson, Manchester; a brother, Muriel Maurer, Manchester; a sister-in-law, Gladys Maurer, Fayette, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, M. Nieman and Evlon Maurer and a sister, Elma Platt
