Marjorie Arlyce Niffenegger, 89, of 802 18th Avenue S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, September 22, 2010, in the Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha, Iowa. Services: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 25, 2010, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, September 24, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Bill; children, Dorothy Hora of Tipton, Rita (David) Smith of Atkins, Leo (Karen) Niffenegger of Marion and Nancy (Thomas) Detweiler; daughter-in-law, Kim Niffenegger of Cedar Rapids; 16 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and brother, Wallace Smith of Cedar Rapids.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Guy Niffenegger; brother, Marvin Smith; and sister, Colleen Smith.
Born August 28, 1921, in Maynard, Iowa, Marjorie was the daughter of Floyd and Wilma (Silka) Smith. On December 5, 1945, she was united in marriage to Bill Niffenegger.
Marjorie’s joys were her family, bingo, sewing and fishing.
