Marge worked for Weyerhaeuser Co. for more than 30 years, until her retirement in 1998. She enjoyed gardening, going to the casinos, and of course, going shopping. Marge loved spending time with her family, including her grandchildren, especially the little ones. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marge is survived and lovingly remembered by three of her children, Allen (Connie) Varner of Shellsburg, Iowa, Janeva Varner (Craig Musil) of Hiawatha, and Angela Varner (Bob Dobrochowski) of Hiawatha; six grandchildren, Justin Varner (Stacy Thompson), Chantel (Scott) Kreutner, Nathan Varner (Kristin Laird), Heath Varner, Hannah (Adam) Crowell, and Cassondra Musil (Kyler Friddle); twelve great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jim Stanek of Oelwein, Iowa, and Roger Stanek of Aurora, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Steven Varner; sister, Carolyn Hovey; and seven brothers, Franklin, William “Bill”, Marvin “Eugene”, Raymond at infancy, twins, Albert and Alvin at infancy, and Harold Stanek.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Hiawatha Police and Fire Departments, as well as the staff in the Emergency Room at St. Luke’s Hospital for everyone’s love, care, and support trying to help Marge during her final minutes.

Memorials in Marge’s memory may be directed to the Hiawatha Fire Department.
