Marjorie Lewis, 87, of 1805 4th Avenue S.E., Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, October 8, 2005, in Crestview Acres Nursing Home, following an extended illness. Services: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2005, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Chaplain Christine Wagner-Hecht. The family will greet friends from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence; a son, Robert (Elaine) Miller of Neenah, Wisconsin; and step-sons, Darwin (Mary Jane) Lewis of Odesa, Texas, John (Maureen) Lewis of Brown City, Michigan and Richard (Wendy) Lewis of Lancaster, California.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a half-brother, William Pulliam; a brother, Robert Arthur; sisters, Isabel Barkdoll, Irene Floyd and Susie Gordon; and a granddaughter, Kristin Miller: and her first husband, Robert Miller.

Marjorie was born November 17, 1917, in Oneida, South Dakota, the daughter of Robert and Nellie Arthur. On March 27, 1964, she was united in marriage to Clarence Lewis in Cedar Rapids, where they resided until her death. Marjorie worked as a sales clerk at Killians and Younkers Department stores in Cedar Rapids until her retirement in the late 1970?s.
