Marjorie Gladys (Saunders) Clemens, 87, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, July 23, 2021, at Meth-Wick Woodlands in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday, November 15, 2021 at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, where a Celebration of Life ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood. Private interment was held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. All guests are respectfully requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing
Marjorie was born on the family farm September 2, 1933, in Jackson County to Bert and Ida Pearl Saunders. She graduated to high school and went on to graduate as a registered nurse at St. Luke’s School of Nursing, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Marjorie was united in marriage on August 29, 1954, to David Clemens. She was active in the DAR, and a member of the Iowa Mayflower Society.
Marjorie was survived by her sons, David (Deb) Clemens, of Brandon, and Daniel (Julie) Clemens, of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, David Clemens, and her parents, Bert and Ida Pearl Saunders; brother, Lloyd Saunders; sisters, Myrtle (Guet) Waters, Beulah (Boo) Duhme, and Wilma (Peg) Harder.
Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.
