Marjorie E. Beitz, 80, of Marion, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016, at her home. Visitation: 3:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 2, 2016, at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Tim DeVries. Burial: Lafayette Cemetery, Alburnett.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Richard (Grace) Beitz and Sheila (Tim) Levasseur; grandchildren, Jenniffer (Jeff) Whitlock, Veronica (Dan) Probasco, Adam (Katie) Beitz, Richard (Amanda) Beitz, and Michael (Kate) Levasseur; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert Matheny and Helen Brown; and many other loving extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Beitz; parents; and 15 siblings.
Marjorie was born February 23, 1936, in Center Point, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Abbi (Schminkey) Matheny. On October 22, 1955, she married Robert Beitz. Marjorie enjoyed life as a housewife, raising her family in Alburnett. She also loved caring for her family.
