Marilyn Ellen Montgomery (Meier)

Marilyn Ellen Montgomery, 73, of Alburnett, died Monday, August 27, 2012, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon (James) Schulte; a son, David Montgomery; a daughter-in-law, Tracy Montgomery; eight grandchildren Ann (John) Mueller, Jessica (Kyle) Anthony, Mary Schulte, James (Samantha) Montgomery, Eric Montgomery, Jonathan (Stephanie) Montgomery, Rachel Montgomery and Danielle Montgomery; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Roth; cousins, Paula, Christine, Jerry, and Cheryl; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Karen; and a son, Michael.
Marilyn was born February 1, 1939, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She grew up in Dubuque, raised her children in Cedar Rapids, and lived the rest of her life in Alburnett. Marilyn worked at Rockwell Collins for 22 years.
Marilyn enjoyed cooking, traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family and her cats.
