Marie L. Neuhaus, 98, of Manchester formerly of Earlville, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023, Good Neighbor Home, Manchester, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2023, with Scripture Service at 3:30 p.m. followed by a rosary at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester. Private family burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Earlville.
Marie was born on August 25, 1925, in Earlville Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Esther (Sternhagen) Kaiser. She attended Country School. Marie married LaVerne Neuhaus on January 29, 1951, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Earlville, Iowa. Marie and LaVerne moved to the Dyersville area and in 1959, moved to Earlville where they raised their family, retiring to Manchester. She was employed by Diny’s restaurant in Delhi for over 37 years. She was an amazing seamstress making her children’s clothing and comforters for her grandchildren. She loved tending to her large garden, doing puzzles, and was the best cook. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Marie is survived by her children, Margie (Randy) Collins of Des Moines, Iowa, Joyce Elaine Neuhaus of Manchester, Loras (Tami) Neuhaus of Quasqueton, Iowa, Susie (Bill) Stock and Wanda (Joe) Bolsinger, both of Greeley, Iowa, Karen (Roy) Davis of Hedrick, Iowa; twenty-three grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Mary Neuhaus of Dubuque, Iowa; and her sister, Bonnie Jean Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joesph and Esther Kaiser; husband, LaVerne Neuhaus; in-laws, Joe and Martha Neuhaus; son, Chuck Neuhaus; granddaughter, Kristi Collins; brothers, Robert (Adorine) Kaiser, Alfred (Rita) Kaiser, Kenneth (Mary Lou) Kaiser, John Kaiser; sisters, Anita (Arnold) Fisher, Ruth Kaiser, Patty Harrington; and infant brother, Charles.
