Marie R. LeClere, 92, of 1103 Monticello Rd., Coggon, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 1, 2003, at St. Luke?s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 6, 2003, at Zion Presbyterian Church in Coggon by the Rev. Ron Lewis, assisted by Pastor Donald LeClere. Burial: Coggon Cemetery. Friends may call at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, from 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Survivors include her children, Dwight LeClere and wife Arlene of Coggon, Harlan LeClere of Cedar Rapids and Beverly LeClere-Melcome of Hercules, California; two brothers, Leroy and Herbert Bronemann, both of Fall City, Washington; nine grandchildren, Schuyler Porter, Julie Anderson, David LeClere, Donald LeClere, Doug LeClere, Kimberly Smith, Timothy LeClere, Matthew LeClere and Nathan LeClere; fifteen great-grandchildren, Bradley LeClere, Heather Price, Lisa LeClere, Joshua LeClere, Michael LeClere, Daniel LeClere, Nicholas LeClere, Christopher LeClere, Derick Smith, Brandon Smith, Austin LeClere, Calvin LeClere, Trevor Anderson, Connor Anderson and Charis Anderson; and three great-great-grandchildren, Ayla, Zachary and Jesse Price.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest; and a brother, Roger Bronemann.
Marie Rose Bronemann was born the daughter of Fred and Minnie Barfuse Bronemann on July 14, 1910, in Waterville, Washington. On January 27, 1927, she was united in marriage to Ernest D. LeClere in Ryan, Iowa. He died April 9, 1995. Marie farmed beside her husband for sixty-eight years. She was a member of Zion Presbyterian Church in Coggon, where she taught Sunday School for many years, a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star and a charter member of the Merry Makers Club.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Marie.
