Marie F. Havlik, 101, of 385 15th Avenue S.W., died Friday, November 8, 2002, in her home, following sudden illness. Services: 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 11, 2002, at St. Lumilas Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Harry Koelker. Burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where a rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Havlik, Donald Havlik and Vernon Havlik, all of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Sr. M. Christine N.D. of Omaha, Nebraska.
Also surviving are six grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; three brothers and four sisters.
Born August 5, 1901, in Czechoslovakia, to Joseph and Katherine Barta Elias, she married Frank Havlik. He died November 28, 1984. For over forty years, Marie worked for the Roosevelt Hotel in the banquet department. She was a lifetime member of St. Lumilas Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.
