Marian Emma Fettkether (Schuler)

Marian E. Fettkether, 78, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Thursday, March 19, 2009, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2009, at John XXIII church at 8100 Roncalli Drive S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, by Rev. Dustin Vu. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church on Saturday.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; children, Tom Fettkether of Cedar Rapids, Bill (Teresa) Fettkether of Shellsburg, Sharon (Kurt) Rothbart of Lisbon and Fred (Annie) Fettkether of Texas; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and siblings, Luella, Leo and Alma.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Carol, brothers, Ray, Ernie, Louis, Eugene and Melvin.
Born May 27, 1930, in Raymond, Iowa, Marian was the daughter of Mathew and Kathryn (Reuter) Schuler. Marian was united in marriage to Robert Fettkether on September 6, 1950, in Hazelton, Iowa. She retired from the Cedar Rapids School system.
Marian enjoyed flowers, cooking, baking and traveling. Her greatest love was her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed twelve years with her husband in Mesa, Arizona.
A memorial fund has been established.
